This elegant locale with it’s amazing heritage-listed properties, tree-lined boulevards and heavenly harbour glimpses, is only 5 kilometres from the CBD - but it’s easy to forget. In Woollahra, cool cafes, award-winning restaurants and art galleries linger side-by-side on pretty promenades, and multi-storey mansions are delightfully, 'die rigueur.'

Woollahra is renowned for its impressive art galleries and antique shopping, as well as it’s wonderfully understated fine dining. Although it’s easy to become starstruck with the amazing Victorian and Edwardian residences lining her leafy streets, you can also find smaller unit blocks, updated apartments and Art Deco complexes that balance out the abundance of luxury. 

Take a meander down the main boulevarde, Queen Street, to discover a tempting display of patisseries, bars, antique stores, restaurants, florists and boutiques, all ready to give your credit card a good workout. 

Quaint historical pubs, cool cafes, and chick restaurants, are always filled to the brim with well-heeled locals, whilst active bodies only venture across the top of Oxford Street to revel in the lush open spaces of Centennial Park.

Parks

Pretty leafy spaces are easy to stumble upon in Woollahra. 

Chiswick Gardens, at the corner of Wellington and Ocean Street, is a shady garden park with a picturesque fountain and restaurant on site. Cooper Park on Kendall Street, is a popular bushland park with winding cliff trails, dog exercise areas, tennis courts and playground.

Moncur Street Reserve, might be small, but with a couple of benches and ample shade, it’s a nice spot to escape to with your favourite novel. Nearby Cooper Park in Bellevue Hill is a unique blend of hidden trails, tennis courts, picnic areas and dog walking. And Plumb Reserve is a small, well maintained park with a novel sea themed playground and shaded covering, that’s perfect for little ones. 

For a huge selection of recreational pursuits for the family, head across to Centennial Park where they can go nuts, enjoying running and walking tracks, horse riding, cycling, roller blading and a variety of team sports on the numerous ovals.

There is an enticing combination of elegant and casual dining in Woollahra, plus a number of fine drinking establishments that all deliciously deliver for serious foodies. 

The iconic Chiswick Restaurant, owned by celebrity chef Matt Moran, is a beautiful light-filled space that offers casual dining and great produce that changes with the season.

Hotel Centennial is a warm and inviting gastro pub with refined pub meals in a gorgeous traditional lounge-style setting.

Bistro Moncur inside the Woollahra Hotel, stylishly serves up french dishes in a bright dining room with cool wall art and vaulted, wooden ceiling.

The Pin Bone restaurant changes it up with elevated brunch dishes, bar bites and share plates, in a split-level venue with smart, white decor.
